Context
A banking IT services organization wanted to strengthen the DevOps skills of its development engineers and provide a practical understanding of modern software delivery practices.
The training was designed specifically for developers, connecting DevOps principles with their day-to-day development workflow.
What I did
I designed and delivered a hands-on training program covering the complete development and delivery workflow:
- DevOps foundations — principles, culture and software lifecycle
- Git & GitHub — source control and collaborative development
- Containerization & Docker — building and running containerized applications
- CI/CD & GitHub Actions — automated build, test and delivery pipelines
- Artifact management & Artifactory — managing and distributing build artifacts
- DevSecOps foundations — integrating security practices into the development lifecycle
The course combined concepts with practical exercises, focusing on tools and workflows developers can directly apply to their projects.
Outcome
Development engineers gained a practical, end-to-end understanding of the DevOps software delivery lifecycle, from source code management through automated pipelines and artifact management to containerized delivery.
The training also introduced security as an integral part of the delivery pipeline, providing the foundations for adopting DevSecOps practices in a banking IT environment.
After 6 months, DevOps skills have been integrated and IT services have implemented the mentioned tools.
I recently took part in a DevOps training course that allowed me to strengthen my technical skills in key areas:
- Containerization with Docker
- Setting up CI/CD pipelines
- Version control with GitHub
- Deployment automation
This training gave me a clear and comprehensive understanding of the DevOps lifecycle, from development through to continuous deployment.
