Context
Mandriva was a Linux distribution editor with an open-source product portfolio and an R&D activity feeding it – a company where the distance between a research result and a shipped product had to be short.
What I did
Product Manager (2011 – 2012)
- Managed the Pulse2 IT asset management product line.
- Architected the company’s R&D projects on cloud computing.
Chief Innovation Officer (2012) – managing the Innovation department:
- Research projects portfolio.
- Industrialization of R&D outcomes.
- Industrial and academic research partnerships.
Outcome
A product line under clear ownership, and an innovation pipeline connected to the products it was meant to feed.
Efficiency, a very broad technical knowledge allowing him to tackle a wide range of subjects, autonomy and work ethic make Jean a valuable collaborator, and, in addition, always cheerful and pleasant.
Working with Jean is a real pleasure, mainly thanks to his personality and open-mindedness. In addition to quickly grasping the technical challenges of a project, he can rapidly present relevant and original solutions.
