Context
KBRW builds a new generation Order Management System for large retailers – the system that tracks every order across stores, warehouses and carriers. Retail peaks are unforgiving: the platform has to stay available and consistent under bursts of traffic, on a data model that differs for every customer.
What I did
- Back-end development in Erlang and Elixir, plus front-end work on the operator interfaces.
- Architecture work on the distributed core and its Riak-based storage.
- Integration, deployment and DevOps: high-availability topology, automated provisioning with Chef, and the release pipeline.
Outcome
A distributed order management platform running in production for retail customers, deployable and operable as a repeatable, automated process.
